65 million euros or no ad

Samarreta

FC Barcelona emissaries in United States, in the perspective to meet potential sponsors for Barça's shirt, have started to work in a first day of contacts with regards to the Super Bowl, according to Xavi Campos in Catalunya Radio's program El Club de la Mitjanit. The goal set by President Josep Maria Bartomeu is the one he wrote in a letter to the delegates: 65 million euros. The rise compared to what Qatar have paid (around 30-35 million euros) is obviously quite significant.
Even so, inside the club "there is confidence but no garanty" to get this price. This is why, according to Xavi Campos, Barça have thought about spending the whole coming season with a clear shirt, without sponsors. Although they're counting on this money (it accounts for approximatively 10% of the income planned next season), the idea is to not sign a contract worth less than the value they indicated and make the most of the 'blank' year to negotiate a new sponsorship. The message coming from the Board is that "no agreement will be signed unless it is the best possible one", says Campos, and that they will not rush it because the financial health of the club is good enough.
In a following analysis, economics specialist Albert Deulofeu noticed that Barça could have trouble reaching their deficit objectives, which is why they could end up having to sell a player.
