What is football?

Football is a game where two teams, each consisting of eleven players on a court tries to win by scoring more goals than your opponent. A measure defined by the ball end up in the opponent's goal. The entire ball must finish line for it to be counted. There is a goalkeeper who is trying to defend the goal. Football can also be played with five, seven or nine players on each team. This is especially common in youth football. At five, or seven players on each team, the offside rule is taken away.

As the name implies, played football primarily using the feet. Players may use any part of the body except the hands and arms, to touch the ball. Only goalkeeper is allowed to use his hands, and then only within a limited area in front of their own goal called box. Moreover, the field players use (both) hands the throw-in other words, when the game is started after the ball has come off the sidelines. A throw-in is executed correctly when the player uses both hands to cast as much, which means that the ball should not have a side spin, but thrown straight forward. It is also required that both feet are on the ground when the ball leaves the shooter's hands. Failure to follow the rules being thrown sentenced opponent.
According to a survey conducted by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), which is the sport's highest governing body, published in spring 2001, playing over 240 million people in over 200 countries and states football. Sport simple rules and minimal equipment requirements have no doubt been the main factors for its spreading and popularity.Several places in the world, especially in Europe, South America and increasingly in Africa, represents the sport one lifestylefor a large part of the followers of each football team.

According to FIFA, the Chinese competition game cuju literally "kick ball"), the oldest form of football that can be proved.  Cujuspillere able to use all parts of the body except the hands, and the intention was to kick a ball through an opening into a net. It was remarkably similar to modern soccer.  During the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD) was cujuspill standardized and firm rules were established.
Episkyros (Greek: ἐπίσκυρος) and / or faininda (φαινίνδα) was ballgames engaged in by ancient Greece.  Two teams of up to 14 players each, and the rules allowed to use your hands. It could be very violent, at least in Sparta. Athenaeus, who wrote in228 AD, stated that the Roman ballgame harpastum that "... which used to be called for faininda, there are games that I like most of everything.  The Roman ballgame was, as Athenaeus says, a Roman version of the Greek ball game.  Little is known about the rules, except that it involved a ball and two teams that fought for it, and that it was quite violent.
These European ballgames, faininda, episkyros and harpastum, involved the use of both hands and more or less serious violence, and thus the memory as much about rugby football, wrestling and volleyball (or a primitive combination of all these) than can be recognized as modern Football.  As with førregulerte medieval football (or "mob football", "popular football", "primitive football" and similar designations) predecessors of all modern football rules, involved these games more diverse handling of the ball than just kicking it.  By non-kunkurrerende games existed Kemari, popular ball games in Japan during the Heian period (794 - 1185), said cuju in China, equivalent chuk-guk in Korea, woggabaliri amongaborigines from the time before Europeans arrived continent.
Primitive football in Europe were disorganized, more violent, more spontaneous and usually played without any clear idea about how many people could participate simultaneously. Regular happened such primitive football matches in the form of a heated contest between whole villages, through the streets and marketplaces, over fields and hedges. Sparking were allowed, and mostly anything else too. As battle considered reminded as much about medieval war plays and where sparking as well intended to defuse the opponent hitting the ball.  Regular football itself has not an old story. Without assessing similarities with other ball games worldwide have FIFA determined that there is no historical connection with any other ball games in antiquity outside Europe.  The modern rules of conventional football so football is played today, is based on efforts in themid-1800s in standardizing various forms of football practiced in British boarding schools.
