Alves, Piqué, Iniesta, Messi & Neymar in UEFA's team of the year

The UEFA published its team of the year for 2015 according to the users' votes. More than 7 million votes from users have been registered in total and Barça is the club most represented with 5 players in the starting XI. Dani Alves, Gerard Piqué, Andres Iniesta, Leo Messi and Neymar are the 5 blaugrana players selected who start in a lineup composed with 3 Real Madrid players (Ramos, James and Cristiano), 2 from Bayern Munich (Neuer and Alaba) and one from Juventus (Pogba).

The footballer that was most voted for in the starting lineup is Leo Messi, chosen in 70% of the lists. 53% of the votes were registered in Europe, 19% in Asia, 15% in South America, 8% in the United States of America, 4% in Africa and 1% in Oceania. As for the age pyramid, people between 18 and 24 years old are the ones that most voted, representing 44% of the votes.

Luis Suárez to face a two-match ban for incidents after match vs Espanyol

The Competition Committee has announced a sanction of two matches for the incident that Luis Suárez starred after Barça - Espanyol Copa match. That way, the striker will fulfill match ban in the Copa and will miss the second leg against Espanyol at Cornella plus the quarterfinal match if the club qualifies.

Meanwhile, the two Espanyol players who were sent-off during the derby, Hernán Pérez and Diop have received a sanction of one game each. Thus they will miss second leg, next Wednesday at 9pm CET.

Moments after knowing the sanction, FC Barcelona issued a statement announcing that they will present an appeal arguing that Luis Suarez gave no offensive words attributed to him in the report of the match.
