Some decisions seem very obvious afterwards. Edgar Davids was one of them. Barça was struggling at 9th place after a very dodgy first half of the season. Juventus let go of Davids on a paying loan to Catalonia. It was the start of a great recovery for the Blaugrana club led by other Dutchman Frank Rijkaard. From 9th place Barça went to 2nd and clinched a direct qualification to the following Champion’s League edition. More than his 18 games (1 goal, 1 assist), it was his attitude and his spirit that lead Barça to only lose 2 games in the second half of the league. After his job was done, Davids went back to Italia.
